Macna Brawler RTX, gloves waterproof

The Brawler consists of goat leather, cow leather and soft flex fabric. Its palm is made of leather and reinforced with an extra layer to raise abrasion resistance. Macna chose flex fabric at the back with leather reinforcing the fingertips.

It’s fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane, making it suited for mild/rainy riding conditions.   

Rubber-like, impact-absorbent protection called EXO RISC™ is fitted at the knuckles, and the middle and ring finger feature similar accents. Macna opted for EVA protection at the palm and thumb, which has characteristics similar to the protection at the knuckles and fingers.

This glove features Macna's Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off.

To enable as much freedom of movement as possible, our 30° Buckle™ is fitted at the wrist.

Macna included a flexible extension names Screen Cleaner™ at the ridge of the index finger that works like a wiper blade, which enables quick and easy removal of water to clear up your view.

Goat leather

Goat leather is a strong leather with a rough texture. It is flexible, soft and durable.

Raintex membrane

Much of our gear is fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane that prevents rainwater from penetrating whilst enabling vapor drops to make their way through. These membranes keep you free from both sweat and rainwater.

Raintex membranes are incorporated into Macna's waterproof garments in different ways. Some feature a fixed membrane and others are fitted with a detachable one. There are also jackets with a waterproof liner, which means the waterproof membrane and thermal liner are combined to create a single layer.

EVA protection

R.I.S.C. EVA protection consists of rubber foam underneath the outer shell. Protection with EVA padding is flexible and resilient as it recovers quickly from compression.

EVA foam excels in absorbing vibrations and impact forces. It is also characterised by its good thermal insulation as well as low water-absorption.

Other advantages are its softness, non-toxicity, stress-crack resistance and resistance to ultraviolet radiation which makes EVA suitable for many purposes.

Screen Cleaner™

There are multiple ways to combat humidity on the visor of your helmet, such as anti-condense sprays and anti fog lenses. But what can you do against actual rain hitting your field of vision? Twist the throttle and try to make it fly off?

There’s a safer and user-friendly solution to this issue, located at the index fingers of our gloves. You’ll find a flexible Screen Cleaner™ that functions like a wiper blade at both hands to enable usage when riding as well as when standing still at, for example, a traffic light.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna is not referring to you, but to your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

30° Buckle™

Aside from a closure at the cuff, long-cuffed gloves often also have a strap at the wrist. This strap is placed horizontally in most cases, which does tighten the glove, but also limits your wrist’s freedom of movement.

This complaint is easily solved by Macna's 30° Buckle™, which enables the wrist and hand to move more freely. Thanks to the difference in placement of the buckle, freedom of movement and overall comfort are raised.

Touch Tip

Touch screens dominate the modern day and age. Smartphones, tablets, and even more important for us motorcyclists: navigation systems. It is nice those screens work by touch, but that’s not really helpful when you’re wearing gloves.

That’s why Macna opts for heat-conductive fabric at the tips of the index fingers. These special Touch Tips enable the warmth of your finger to find its way through so that you can operate touch screens without having to take off your gloves.
