Scottoiler Refill, chain oil
Article No.: 11101662
Chain oils for Scottoiler automatic lubrication systems.
Standard oil (blue) and high-temperature oil (red)
Both oils have the same chemical composition, but the high-temperature oil is thicker, which means it flows more slowly at higher temperatures than the standard blue oil. Otherwise, the two oils are identical, which means they can also be mixed, saving you time and oil if you want to switch from one oil to the other.
Which oil is needed?
The type of oil required depends on the outdoor temperatures in which you usually ride. For temperatures between 0–30°C, Scottoiler recommends the standard blue oil. If you ride in higher temperatures, use the high-temperature red oil, as it is a better alternative and also easier to regulate. The red high-temperature Scottoil should be used at temperatures between 20–40°C.
All Climate Scottoil (green)
All Climate Green Scottoil is a chain oil that is recommended for use with Scottoiler’s automatic chain lubrication systems in climates ranging from 0–40 °C/32–104 °F. It provides optimal lubrication for your chain while keeping it clean.
Scottoil Standard Blue
It is recommended that the blue Traditional Scottoil be used in a temperature range of 0°C to 30°C, while the red High Temperature Scottoil is recommended for a range of 20°C to 40°C. However, this refers not only to the outside temperature but rather to the operating temperature. If the Scottoiler reservoir is exposed to direct heat from, for example, the cylinder head or exhaust, the red oil is also recommended for year-round use.
Features
- 250 ml of Scottoil provides a range of up to 10,000 km
- Scottoiler Blue is the traditional Scottoil used as standard in all Scottoiler systems
- Standard Scottoil is suitable for moderate ambient temperatures between 0–30°C and is perfect for Europe
Scottoil High Temperature Red
It is recommended that the blue Traditional Scottoil be used in a temperature range of 0°C to 30°C, while the red High Temperature Scottoil is intended for a range of 20°C to 40°C. However, this refers not only to the outside temperature, but rather to the operating temperature. If the Scottoiler reservoir is exposed to direct heat from, for example, the cylinder head or exhaust, the red oil is also recommended for year-round use.
Features
- 250 ml of Scottoil provides coverage for up to 10,000 km
- Scottoiler High Temperature Red was developed specifically for warmer regions and is thicker than conventional Scottoil
- Scottoiler High Temperature Red is suitable for average ambient temperatures between 20–40°C, e.g., for summer in Central and Southern Europe
- High-Temperature Oil can also be used in Scottoiler systems when a slower flow rate is desired
All Climate Scottoil Green
A chain oil specifically developed to be recommended for use with Scottoiler automatic chain lubrication systems in climates ranging from 0–40°C/32–104°F. It provides optimal lubrication for your chain while keeping it clean.
All Climate Green Scottoil works seamlessly with your Scottoiler system to continuously lubricate your chain while removing excess dirt. This keeps your chain clean and in optimal condition. Unlike conventional spray lubricants, which are thick and sticky, All Climate Green Scottoil is a plant-based oil with fewer adhesive additives, meaning less dirt sticks to your chain. This extends the life of your chain and minimizes the need for manual maintenance. Scottoil was developed for excellent lubrication and friction reduction and also offers good wear and corrosion protection properties.
Unlike Scottoiler’s Standard Blue and High Temperature Red Scottoil, the viscosity of the plant-based Scottoil is more stable, making it suitable for riding in all climates. It is also readily biodegradable, making it the most environmentally friendly choice for every Scottoiler user.
Features
- Scottoil All Climate Green offers a wide operating temperature range of approx. 0–40°C (32–104°F) and is therefore suitable for all climates
- All Climate Green Scottoil is clearly distinguishable by its vibrant green color, the recyclable, transparent plastic bottle, and the twist-off cap
- Scottoil All Climate Green was developed on a vegetable oil base to ensure compatibility with other Scottoil products and all Scottoiler chain lubricators
- To be labeled as “readily biodegradable,” a product must be rapidly and completely biodegradable within 28 days (≥ 60% according to the OECD 301A-F/ASTM D7373 test)
- 125 ml is sufficient for approximately 4,000 km of riding
- 250 ml is sufficient for approx. 8,000 km of riding
- 500 ml is sufficient for approx. 16,000 km of riding
Note
It is recommended to use non-manufacturer-approved oils (e.g., chainsaw oil) to avoid damage to the system. Any resulting damage will NOT be covered under warranty or as a goodwill gesture! Scottoiler recommends using only genuine Scottoiler oils.
