X-Pro Carbon shell construction

NEXX’s X-PRO-CARBON technology combines modern composite material technology with high-quality 3K carbon fibre. Drawing on expertise from the aerospace industry, this results in a high-performance composite shell construction designed to achieve an optimal balance between weight and structural strength.

The carbon construction enables a helmet shell that is exceptionally lightweight yet highly durable. The reduced weight takes the strain off the neck area in particular and ensures a high level of comfort, even on longer journeys.

FRHPhe-02 – FIM Racing Homologation for Motorcycle Helmets

FRHPhe-02 stands for FIM Racing Homologation Programme for Helmets – Phase 2. It is an enhanced safety standard from the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), developed specifically for professional motorcycle racing.

Compared to standard ECE 22.06 approval, FRHPhe-02 imposes additional requirements on the protective performance of a motorbike helmet.

Technical features

A key feature is the advanced testing of impact absorption and protection against rotational acceleration.

• Rotational acceleration: Testing of the forces acting on the head during oblique impacts, which can lead to rotational movements.
• Linear acceleration: Assessment of the forces transmitted to the head in various impact scenarios.
• Impact test: Advanced test procedures involving different speeds and impact conditions.
• Visor test: Additional requirements regarding the durability and safety of the visor.
• Chin guard test: Assessment of the structural strength of the chin area.

What makes this special?

The oblique impact test is particularly relevant:

The helmet is struck against an impact surface inclined at 45°. In addition to linear forces, rotational movements and the resulting stress on the head are also measured.

In addition, the Skull Fracture Criterion (SFC) has been introduced as an assessment criterion that specifically takes into account the risk of skull fractures.

Racing ventilation

Performance on the racetrack requires effective airflow management. The X.R5R features an advanced ventilation system with 8 air inlets and 5 outlets, which maximises fresh air circulation throughout the helmet. Special race-style chin ventilation and additional air channels in the cheek pads ensure optimum comfort and concentration even under the most demanding conditions.

Personalised, race-ready fit

Every rider is unique. That’s why the X.R5R features the 360° Custom Fit System, which combines interchangeable liners and adjustable cheek pads to enable precise size adjustment. The result is improved stability, outstanding comfort and a truly personalised fit.

Emergency strap system

The emergency strap system, integrated into each cheek pad, enables trained medical staff to safely remove the cheek pads, making it easier to take the helmet off in emergency situations.

Designed for precision at high speeds

The compact, race-optimised visor mechanism offers three intermediate positions for precise airflow control.

X-Race visor locking system

The X-Race visor locking system holds the visor securely in place at high speeds and offers additional protection in the event of an impact.

Adjustable spoiler

The tool-free adjustable spoiler extension allows the rider to extend the rear spoiler by up to 20 mm to adapt the helmet’s stability and aerodynamic characteristics to different riding styles and track conditions.

X-Hidro System

X-HIDRO straps, designed to hold hydration tubes securely in place during long-distance rides and demanding race sessions, whilst ensuring they remain easily accessible.

Air-Cumbs cooling chamber

The Air-Cumbs cooling chamber is an integrated ventilation system inside the helmet. It helps distribute the incoming fresh air within the helmet and contributes to a continuous exchange of air. This air circulation helps to dissipate heat and moisture from inside the helmet, thereby ensuring a more comfortable environment for the head – particularly in warmer temperatures and during longer rides.

Recoil-Shield System

The Recoil Shield System is a quick-release mechanism for the helmet visor. It allows the visor to be easily removed and refitted, thereby simplifying cleaning and replacement. The visor mechanism is also designed to ensure a consistent fit. In combination with the special sealing and anti-vibration components, this ensures a secure seal for the visor.

X-Mart Dry Lining Materials

The X-MART DRY lining materials have been specially developed for use in motorbike helmets. This functional material promotes moisture wicking and draws sweat away from the head. The breathable and skin-friendly materials ensure a comfortable fit and help to maintain a pleasant climate even on longer journeys.

Universal compatibility with communication systems

The X.R5R has been designed for seamless communication on every ride and features integrated recesses in the ear cups, which comfortably accommodate most communication systems. A special slot for universal clamping mounts ensures quick and secure installation and provides a clean fit without compromising on comfort, aerodynamics or performance.
