Alpinestars Supertech S-M3 Wurx, motocross helmet youth

The Supertech S-M3 helmet has been specially developed for teenagers and younger riders. It is optimised for MX, enduro and off-road use and features a whole range of technologies and innovations taken from Alpinestars helmets for adults to offer the optimum blend of performance, protection and comfort.

Features

• This lightweight helmet features a thermally injected shell with a special polymer blend that is enhanced by different thicknesses and offers an optimal combination of impact protection and low weight
• The lightweight outer shell is made from a technologically advanced, impact-resistant thermoplastic and is available in three sizes (Youth Small, Youth Medium and Youth Large). The SM3 Youth weighs 1060 gr.
• The fit can be customised to the rider's head thanks to the helmet calotte and cheek pads, which are available as spare parts in various thicknesses
• The Youth Medium (YM) and Youth Large (YL) sizes have the same EPS size, so riders with the YM size can buy a YM helmet first and then configure it to the Youth Large size as they grow via the spare parts for the crown and cheek pads
• The Youth Small (YS) has a smaller EPS size and can only be customised via the cheek pads. Alpinestars extensive research has shown that the children wearing a YS size are very small, typically 3 to 4 years old, and therefore require a specialised fit
• The multi-density inner lining ensures that the helmet is fitted with the right density in the right place to better absorb impact while reducing overall weight
• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimise the impact of oblique shocks
• Alpinestars' patented low-friction coating is applied to the inner part of the main EPS layer to reduce the rotational acceleration forces that can occur in certain angled impacts. This layer essentially acts as a sliding surface to mimic the low-friction cerebrospinal fluid, which is the body's natural defence against oblique impacts
• Maximum ventilation and a high level of heat transfer thanks to 10 air inlets and 7 outlets
• The peak has been designed to channel the air into the openings to improve airflow
• The patented peak release system ensures that the peak is released with the correct, predetermined amount of force, effectively reducing the forces acting on the rider's neck in the event of an impact
• The comfort lining is made from recycled materials for a lower carbon footprint
• Channels for the hydration tube are integrated into the helmet's cheek pads for comfort and performance
• The soft textile chin strap is 25 mm wide and ensures optimum safety and rider comfort

Protection

• Alpinestars has introduced an in-house standard for the Supertech S-M3 Youth to test the helmet's chin for conditions more severe than the homologation standard. To pass Alpinestars' standards, both the shell thickness and the structure of the helmet design itself have been optimised in the chin area for superior impact performance
• Equipped with an emergency system and removable cheek pads to allow safe and easy removal of the cheek pads while the helmet is still on, while the 3D moulded foam ensures rider comfort
• Double stainless steel D-rings ensure a tight and secure fit
• The SM3 helmet complies with the ECE 2206 homologation
