Macna Zairon, gloves

A short-cuffed glove with EXO RISC™ protection at the knuckles, suited for riders in hot riding conditions.

The Zairon consists of elastane at the back of the hand and synthetic nubuck at the palm, with an extra layer reinforcing the most critical areas, including fingertips.

It is fitted with a tricot liner and the absence of a membrane makes is suited for hot riding conditions.  
Areas of the palm and thumb are reinforced with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) which is rubber-like in its finish and flexibility and provides impact absorption.

EXO RISC™ protection can be found at the fingers and the knuckles are protected by a combination of EXO RISC™ and impact-absorbent temper foam.

This glove features Macna's Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off.

Brushed synthetic leather which is soft, flexible, breathable and has the look of real suede.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

EXO RISC™

In order to keep improving the comfort of Macna’s products and thus of motorcyclists, the designers are constantly being challenged. At the start of 2021, they were tasked to take another look at breathability of protectors.

Protectors are often sturdy covers that protect very well, but lack a five-star rating in other areas. Being hard, impact-absorbent and abrasion-resistant is likely to make a protector score low when it comes to breathability and flexibility.

Strange thing is; your body often catches more than enough wind, so breathability doesn’t have to be an issue. How are we going to flex a hard cover, though? This could use some macnafication.

EVA Protection

R.I.S.C. EVA protection consists of rubber foam underneath the outer shell. Protection with EVA padding is flexible and resilient as it recovers quickly from compression.

EVA foam excels in absorbing vibrations and impact forces. It is also characterized by its good thermal insulation as well as low water-absorption.

Other advantages are its softness, non-toxicity, stress-crack resistance and resistance to ultraviolet radiation which makes EVA suitable for many purposes.
