Macna Hulcana RTX, gloves waterproof women

A long-cuffed, waterproof glove with pre-formed protection at the knuckles, and a reinforced leather palm, suited for riders in mild/rainy riding conditions.

The Hulcan consists of soft flex fabric at the back and goat leather at the palm. An extra layer of leather is fitted at the palm to raise abrasion resistance, as has been done at the tips of the fingers to reinforce them.

It is fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane, making it suited for mild/rainy riding conditions.   

Macna opted for a soft, pre-formed RISC™ 3D temper foam protector that provides impact absorption at the knuckles. The palm and fingers are reinforced with impact-absorbent EVA which is rubber-like in its finish and flexibility.

This glove features Macna's unique Ergothumb™ construction, meaning the thumb and index finger are made of one and the same panel of fabric. This reduces seams and pressure points whilst also giving a wrinkle-free look.

Heat-conductive fabric is fitted at the tips of the index fingers. Thanks to the Touch Tip, you’ll be able to operate touch screens without taking your gloves off.

To enable as much freedom of movement as possible, Macna's 30° Buckle™ is fitted at the wrist.

Macna included a flexible extension at the ridge of the index finger that works like a Screen Cleaner™, which enables quick and easy removal of water to clear up your view.

Water that accumulates between the membrane and outer shell is dispersed by the Water Exhaust™, which enables the glove to dry much faster.

Goat leather

Goat leather is a strong leather with a rough texture. It is flexible, soft and durable.

Softwill

Strong woven fabric with fine twill structure and light stretchability which is comfortable to wear.

Raintex

Much of Macna’s gear is fitted with a waterproof Raintex membrane that prevents rainwater from penetrating whilst enabling vapor drops to make their way through. These membranes keep you free from both sweat and rainwater.

Raintex membranes are incorporated into Macna’s waterproof garments in different ways. Some feature a fixed membrane and others are fitted with a detachable one. There are also jackets with a waterproof liner, which means the waterproof membrane and thermal liner are combined to create a single layer.

Water Exhaust™

Membranes indeed block water, but that doesn’t mean water is unable to penetrate the outer layer. This can cause water to get trapped between outer layer and membrane, resulting in your glove becoming wet, cold, and soggy.

By fitting a glove with a Water Exhaust™, Macna prevents it (and your hand) from getting soaked, cold, and soggy. The Water Exhaust™ drains any excess rainwater that wants to accumulate between the waterproof Raintex membrane and outer layer, causing the glove to dry much faster.

Screen Cleaner™

There are multiple ways to combat humidity on the visor of your helmet, such as anti-condense sprays and anti-fog lenses. But what can you do against actual rain hitting your field of vision? Twist the throttle and try to make it fly off?

There’s a safer and user-friendly solution to this issue, located at the index fingers of Macna’s gloves. You’ll find a flexible Screen Cleaner™ that functions like a wiper blade at both hands to enable usage when riding as well as when standing still at, for example, a traffic light.

Touch Tip

Touch screens dominate the modern day and age. Smartphones, tablets, and even more important for us motorcyclists: navigation systems. It is nice those screens work by touch, but that’s not really helpful when you’re wearing gloves.

That’s why Maca opts for heat-conductive fabric at the tips of the index fingers. These special Touch Tips enable the warmth of your finger to find its way through so that you can operate touch screens without having to take off your gloves.

Ergothumb™

Ride long enough and eventually anything in an ‘unnatural’ position will start to hurt. In this case, Macna does'nt blame you, but your gear. Traditional gloves simply aren’t designed to grab the handlebar and maintain that position, sometimes for hours on end.

Ergothumb™ is an ergonomic construction that prevents wrinkling, pressure points, and pain, due to the thumb and index finger being made of one and the same panel of fabric. This creates a preformed glove that’s in its ‘natural’ position when you are riding.

EVA Protection

R.I.S.C. EVA protection consists of rubber foam underneath the outer shell. Protection with EVA padding is flexible and resilient as it recovers quickly from compression.

EVA foam excels in absorbing vibrations and impact forces. It is also characterized by its good thermal insulation as well as low water-absorption.

Other advantages are its softness, non-toxicity, stress-crack resistance and resistance to ultraviolet radiation which makes EVA suitable for many purposes.

The palm is reinforced with an extra layer of fabric.

30° Buckle™

Aside from a closure at the cuff, long-cuffed gloves often also have a strap at the wrist. This strap is placed horizontally in most cases, which does tighten the glove, but also limits your wrist’s freedom of movement.

This complaint is easily solved by Macna’s 30° Buckle™, which enables the wrist and hand to move more freely. Thanks to the difference in placement of the buckle, freedom of movement and overall comfort are raised.
