Carhartt FR (Flame Resistant)

Self-extinguishing: Unlike normal clothing, which continues to burn when exposed to fire, Carhartt FR clothing is designed to extinguish itself within seconds once the source of ignition is removed. This significantly limits the extent of burning and the percentage of body burns.

• Protection against burns: It acts as a barrier between the wearer and the flames, minimizing the risk of serious injury from flames and electric arc flashes.
• No melting on the skin: FR clothing is manufactured so that it does not melt on the skin when exposed to flames, which can be the case with other synthetic fabrics and lead to severe burns.
• Long-lasting flame resistance: The flame-retardant properties are permanent. They are integrated into the fibers of the fabric or applied through special treatments and remain effective throughout the garment's lifetime, even after many washes, provided the care instructions are followed.
• Specially designed for high-risk areas: Carhartt FR clothing is designed for electricians and workers in the supply, oil, gas, and petrochemical industries who are exposed to the risk of electric arcs flashes and flash fires.
• Compliance with safety standards: Carhartt FR products meet important safety standards such as NFPA-70E, ASTM, and OSHA, which define protection against various hazards. They are often marked with an HRC (Hazard Risk Category) that indicates the level of protection.
• Clear labeling: To distinguish Carhartt FR clothing from traditional Carhartt clothing, it is clearly marked with a “FR Carhartt” patch instead of the usual Carhartt patch. Product labels and HRC labels also help with identification.
