The SM3 helmet was developed for MX, enduro, and off-road riding and combines advanced technologies and innovations that ensure greater user-friendliness, comfort, and impact protection.

Features

• Advanced shell construction: This helmet features a thermoformed shell made from a special polymer blend with varying thicknesses, providing an optimal combination of impact protection and low weight. The SM3 weighs 1430 gr. in the medium size
• Ventilation: Maximum ventilation and high heat exchange thanks to 10 inlets and seven outlet vents
• Protection against rotational acceleration forces: Alpinestars' patented low-friction coating is applied to the inside of the EPS main liner to reduce the rotational acceleration forces that can occur during certain oblique impacts. This layer essentially acts as a sliding surface that mimics the low-friction cerebrospinal fluid of the brain, which is the body's natural protection against oblique impacts
• Peak release: The patented peak release system ensures that the peak is released with the correct, pre-determined force, effectively reducing the forces acting on the rider's neck in the event of an impact

Construction

• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of oblique impacts
• 5 EPS inner parts with 4 densities ensure effective volume and impact behavior
• Drinking tube channels are integrated into the cheek pads of the helmet for greater comfort and performance
• The comfort lining is made from recycled materials for a lower carbon footprint
• The fit can be adjusted to the rider's head thanks to the inner lining and cheek pads, which are available as original replacement parts in various thicknesses

Protection

• Alpinestars has introduced a new internal standard for the SM3 helmet to test the chin of the helmet under conditions that are more stringent than the homologation standard. To meet Alpinestars' new standards, both the shell thickness and the structure of the helmet design itself have been optimized in the chin area to achieve superior impact performance
• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of oblique impacts
• Equipped with an emergency release system and removable cheek pads that allow for safe and easy removal of the cheek pads while the helmet is still on, while the 3D-shaped foam provides comfort
• The soft textile chin strap is 25 mm wide and offers optimum safety and comfort for the rider
• Stainless steel double-D ring chin strap closure ensures a snug and secure fit
• The S-M3 helmet is certified according to ECE 22.06
