Oxford's AAA single layer denim jeans come with level 2 certified Dynamic protectors for lightweight and comfortable street riding.

For Oxford's Approved Denim, material innovation was a priority; performance denim built specifically for life on two wheels. From new yarn and fiber technologies to new finishes and dying techniques.

After continuous testing, both in the lab and out on the road, we introduce Armourlite® - highly durable denim that maintains a vintage look and softness; jeans you want to wear.

To do this, Oxford worked with skilled weavers and warpers to include a polyamide fiber into the weave - a hard-wearing material originally developed by the military for parachute cords.

A two-way stretch was added to enhance mobility and comfort. We also included a quick dry technology which draws sweat and increases water repellency.

What is Armourlite®?

For Oxford’s single layer protective clothing, material innovation – from new yarn and fibre technologies to new finishes and dyeing techniques – was a priority; we needed performance fabrics built specifically for life on two wheels.

After months of testing and development, both in the lab and out on the road, Oxford introduced the first iteration of Armourlite® – a highly durable, single layer denim which maintains a vintage look and softness for jeans you want to wear.

To do this, Oxford worked with skilled weavers to incorporate into the weave a high tenacity polyamide fiber – a hard-wearing material originally developed by the military for parachute cords.

A two-way stretch was added to enhance mobility and comfort. Oxford also included a quick dry technology which draws sweat and increases water repellency.

As well as boasting great comfort and strength, Armourlite™ also benefits from tremendous heat stability. This matters because abrasion during an accident can generate temperatures above 100°C.

Where some abrasion resistant materials used in motorcycle jeans suffer from a low melting point (around 150°C), Armourlite®’s composite structure remains completely stable well past 230°C.

Armourlite® technology has since evolved beyond denim and into other fabrics which offer the same high street look and comfort in single layer protective leggings, jeggings, joggers, hoodies, chinos and cargo pants.
