R1R! Inspired by MotoGP experience, this dynamic design was developed in Italy using the most advanced digital tools and rigorously tested by KYT riders to ensure top-notch performance. Thanks to more than three years of wind tunnel testing and extensive road and track testing to optimize flow dynamics in various riding positions—straight riding, braking, and cornering—it offers improved aerodynamics for maximum riding comfort.

Vertical and peripheral field of vision of 90 and 210 degrees, respectively, “Hydrocool textile” fabric, a visor mechanism with a rototranslation system, and a “Racing Lock System” visor locking mechanism made of metal alloy, the most stringent used by MotoGP riders. The R1R is the ideal helmet for the road and the racetrack.

Shell

The outer shell is made of TRICOCOMPOSITE fibers—a blend of carbon, aramid, and fiberglass designed to provide the optimal balance between light weight and high impact resistance. The R1R is available in three different shell sizes (S, M, L) to ensure the best structural efficiency across the entire size range.

Inner lining

The inner lining is manufactured in three ergonomically optimized sizes and consists of EPS with variable densities. This design allows for progressive absorption of impact energy and complements the deformation of the outer shell. Different EPS densities in key areas improve the protective effect of the helmet. All inner components are removable, washable, and replaceable. The Hydrocool textile fabric quickly dissipates heat, keeps the skin dry, and ensures hygiene. The cheek pads are also equipped with an emergency quick-release system.

Hydrocool inner lining

Hydrocool lining consists of functional, high-performance fibers that actively wick moisture away from the body while promoting rapid heat dissipation.

The structure of the fabric works capillarily: moisture is distributed over a large area so that it evaporates more quickly. This keeps the skin drier and the temperature in the contact area more stable, even during longer, athletic rides or high outside temperatures.

The fibers are soft, breathable, and treated with an antibacterial agent to reduce odors and material degradation. In combination with different foam densities and ventilation channels, the Hydrocool material supports air circulation in the helmet and ensures a consistently comfortable microclimate. The inner padding is usually removable and washable without losing its material properties.

Visor

The injection-molded polycarbonate visor (optical class 1) has a variable thickness for optical clarity and increased structural strength. Its scratch-resistant coating and tool-free quick-release system make it easy to use. The rototranslation mechanism ensures a secure and precise closure. The metal alloy Racing Lock System minimizes accidental opening of the visor in the event of an impact. The shield is tear-off ready.

Optical Class 1 Visor

An Optical Class 1 visor meets the highest optical quality standard according to EN standards and is designed to provide a distortion-free field of vision. The lens is precisely constructed with variable thickness to ensure a uniform refractive index across the entire field of vision. This keeps lines, distances, and movements clearly visible—crucial for high speeds, fast eye movements, and precise orientation.

Optical class 1 visors are made from high-quality, injection-molded polycarbonate. This process enables the production of a highly transparent surface with minimal tolerances. The result is a visor that is both clear and mechanically robust, including high impact resistance, UV protection, and compatibility with anti-fog systems such as Pinlock. For the rider, this means maximum optical quality, less eye fatigue, and greater safety—especially in the peripheral field of vision and when riding at the limit.

Ventilation

The ventilation system includes a chin vent, a large central front vent, and two upper vents. Internal channels distribute the airflow efficiently throughout the helmet. An aerodynamic rear spoiler improves air extraction through the Venturi effect created by the rear vents.

Retention system

Stainless steel double D-ring closure for maximum safety.
