Protection

• Dual-density TPU ankle protectors are positioned between the upper and the padded lining to ensure an optimal combination of protection and flexibility.
• Ankle discs are located on the inside and outside for effective yet discreet ankle protection.
• Alpinestars' Transverse Protection Frame (TPF) protects the foot by providing the necessary support on the footrest without compromising the flexibility of the forefoot, ensuring excellent walking comfort.
• The inner toe and heel reinforcement is attached under the upper material and ensures an ergonomic design and additional protection.
• Open-cell foam with different thicknesses, developed for each specific area – padding in the shift area, on the ankle, and on the collar. The open-cell structure ensures excellent breathability.

Ortholite®

Ortholite® Basic. Very lightweight, antibacterial, and washable insole made from patented PU Ortholite foam. Provides cushioning, good breathability, and dry feet.

Alpinestars Transversal Protection Frame (TPF)

Alpinestars' Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) is a structural protection system found in several of the brand's modern riding sneakers and motorcycle boots. TPF ensures that a shoe looks like a sneaker — but behaves like a real motorcycle boot in the event of an impact or while riding. TPF is therefore a supporting inner chassis that controls the transverse stress on the foot without killing the mobility of the forefoot.

Core principle

TPF combines several materials and components to form a protective frame:

Transverse metal bar in the forefoot

reduces the risk of twisting and crushing of the forefoot when lateral forces are applied.

TPU shanks (stiffening elements in the midsole)

stabilize the midfoot against deflection, especially when standing on the footrest.

PU midsole

absorbs forces, distributes loads, and at the same time provides walking comfort similar to that of running shoes. The overall package results in a protected, torsion-stable foot area without the typical “ski boot effect” of many motorcycle boots.

What TPF offers in practical riding

1. Protection against lateral loads Lateral forces during a fall are one of the most common causes of injury. TPF minimizes these loads with its integrated lateral profile.
2. Stability on the footrest The TPU shanks prevent the shoe from bending when standing or during load changes — particularly relevant on longer tours or when riding sportily.
3. Flexibility at the front is retained The forefoot retains its rolling ability. This is important if you walk a lot and don't want to wear clunky boots.
4. Top-class TPF shoes are certified according to EN 13634:2017 — the relevant standard for motorcycle shoes.
