UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) has originally been developed for the NASA and is a subset of the thermoplastic polyethylene.
It consists of extremely long chains of carbon atoms which have the highest possible impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made.

Das Shirt sieht sehr gut aus, fässt sich gut und macht allen in allem einen , schönen, wertigen Eindruck. Ausbaufähig sind die Protektorentaschen und die umständliche Protektorensuche. Es ist KEIN Rückenprotektor enthalten - dieser muss extra erworben werden. Der hier bei Motoin aufgeführte Protektor \"D3O Viper 2, Rückenprotektor Einsatz Level-2\" ist prinzipiell passend für dieses Shirt, nur leider stand nirgendwo eine Angabe, welche Protektorengröße für welche Größe des Shirts passend ist. Nachdem ich es selber ausprobiert habe, kann ich folgendes sagen: Der D3O Viper 2 in Größe M passt für das Rider Shirt in Größe L. D3O Viper 2 in Größe L passt für das Rider Shirt in Größe XL. Schade finde ich, dass die Protektorentasche für den Rücken auf den ersten Blick größer ist, als es die tatsächlichen Nähte zulassen. Richtung Lendenwirbelsäule geht das Netzmaterial noch gut 3-4cm weiter, die Tasche selber wurde aber durch eine Naht künstlich verkleinert. Hier hat man aus meiner Sicht die Chance verpasst, einen größeren Protektor zu verbauen, der mehr Schutzfläche bieten würde. Die Protektorentasche an den Schultern sitzt bei mir gut. Die Protektorentasche an den Ellbogen sitzt schlecht, mein Ellbogengelenk liegt frei und der Protektor sitzt am Unterarm. Ich habe mich für Größe XL bei 183cm und 95kg entschieden. Da ich Kraftsport mache, waren Schulterweite und Unterarmweite der \"Flaschenhals\". Im Bereich Brust und Bauch sitzt mir das Shirt zu locker, hier werde ich es noch nachträglich taillieren lassen, sowie die Protektorentasche des Ellbogengelenks versetzen lassen.
