O MIPS, ou Sistema de Proteção de Impacto Multi-Direcional, utiliza um plano de deslizamento concebido para gerir a energia de impactos rotacionais e angulares.
Quando uma cabeça gira rapidamente e chega a uma paragem súbita, a aceleração rotacional pode fazer com que o tecido cerebral experimente altos níveis de tensão. O estiramento do problema que pode ser causado por estes movimentos pode resultar em vários tipos de lesões cerebrais. A BELL acredita que os capacetes equipados com a tecnologia MIPS podem fornecer uma medida adicional de proteção em determinados impactos.

Bell took the MX-9 MX helmet and fitted it with a scratch-resistant, antifog visor. The flip-up visor is suitable for spectacle wearers even in extreme conditions and can also be completely removed. The adjustable helmet peak can also be removed for an inconspicuous street look.

MIPS® Energy Management System
MIPS, or Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, uses a slip plane designed to manage energy from rotational and angular impacts.
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration can cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. The stretching of the issue that can be caused by these motions can result in various types of brain injury. BELL believes, that helmets equipped with MIPS technology can provide an additional measure of protection in certain impacts.
MIPS uses a slip-plane system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the strains associated with rotational acceleration, we might reduce the risk and severity of brain injury.

The quick-drying inner padding helps dissipate sweat and uses silver to control odor.

Bell's Velocity Flow Ventilation System literally pulls air through the helmet, keeping the rider cooler.
Flying Bridge Visor™
Not all visors are created equal. The Flying Bridge Visor design allows more flexibility and improves airflow across the helmet. By not using a traditional center post and screw concept, BELL was able to increase the amount of energy management material in a high impact zone.
