The aim of the Alpinestars Supertech helmet family was to develop the most advanced, protective and high performance helmets for riders worldwide. With the M10, Alpinestars' helmet development team designed the helmet to offer the perfect blend of superior ventilation and unrivalled comfort to create a helmet with the lowest possible weight without compromising in other areas.
The design of the M10 offers a smooth, attractive, aerodynamic profile that is streamlined and free from external profiles and features that could act as a stress point on impact or compromise the overall integrity of the helmet construction. The surface curvature favours reduced friction on impact, allowing deflection and the most efficient transfer of energy to protect the rider's head from direct force to the skull, neck and spine.

The helmet shell construction uses a state-of-the-art moulding technology with a multi-composite combination:
- 3K carbon, an outer layer of high-density carbon that improves strength and efficiency of energy dissipation across the shell
- A unidirectional carbon composite layer that provides significantly higher radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy
- An aramid fibre layer that provides critical penetration protection. This layer combination is made even more powerful by an epoxy resin compound that provides the best possible strength and energy management. The limited deflection of the outer shell means that energy spreads further and is better absorbed by the 4-density EPS liner
