Surface Guidelines
The Quad Lock® Adhesive Dashboard Mount uses a 3M™ VHB™ 5611 adhesive tape that adheres to smooth, non-textured, non-porous surfaces such as:
- Plastics such as PC, ABS, PVC, nylon, acrylic (e.g., car dashboard or console).
- Uncoated glass (e.g. windshield)
- Metals
- Fiberglass
The tape will not hold on the following substrates:
- Rubber, TPU, TPE
- Leather
- Silicone
- Soft touch coating or paint
- Plastics with low surface energy such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), acetal, HDPE.
Application temperature:
- Optimum application temperature is between 70 °F (21 °C) and 100 °F (38 °C).
- It is not recommended to mount the bracket at temperatures below 10 °C (50 °F).
Make sure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and dry before attaching the dashboard/console bracket.
3M™ VHB™ is a disposable adhesive tape and cannot be reused.
The Dashboard/Console Mount is not recommended for use on motorcycles, scooters, ATVs or other applications with high frequency engine vibration.
