GORE-TEX
The GORE-TEX membrane has over 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are around 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. This makes the GORE-TEX membrane permanently waterproof and windproof, while also being highly breathable.
The result: no water can penetrate from the outside, wind is kept out, and sweat can easily escape. To guarantee absolute weather resistance, GORE-TEX products are sealed with GORE-SEAM TAPE technologies. These tapes seal every tiny hole that is created when the membrane is sewn into garments. In order to meet the specific requirements of all areas of application, GORE-TEX has developed a wide variety of membranes and technologies, which are incorporated into the respective products depending on their features.
D3O® Protectors
D3O® protectors are made from material containing intelligent molecules that move freely under normal conditions. This makes the protectors soft and flexible in their normal state, allowing them to fit comfortably to the body. In the event of a sudden impact (such as a fall), the molecules instantly lock together, providing excellent shock absorption. D3O® protectors react within a fraction of a second and return to their original state just as quickly once the impact is over. This process can be repeated as often as necessary without any reduction in the material's performance.
