MaxTex is a 600-denier polyester fabric that offers a good balance between protection and ergonomics.
MaxTex was developed exclusively for RST and offers higher abrasion resistance than normal 600 denier polyester.
K-540 mesh fabric
With larger holes (four times the size of K-492), K-540 mesh allows a tremendous amount of air to pass through while providing protection against abrasion, tears and cuts.

Fit is great, but with a bad chemical smell

The price/performance ratio of this jacket is very good. It fits like a normal piece of clothing, not too small or too big and it is not too heavy either. However, I am deducting two stars from the rating and that has to do with the impregnation of the jacket and its inner layer. The jacket itself and the rain/wind layer stink to high heaven and have a chemically pungent smell. We thought it was because the jackets were stored in the shop warehouse, but a cleaning company that we took the jacket to after two days confirmed that it was a chemical impregnation and that was responsible for the almost unbearable pungent smell. We later visited a dealer near us and the RST jackets there also smelled extremely chemical.
