Kangoeroe leer
Normaal leer wordt hard, broos en krimpt wanneer het wordt blootgesteld aan vocht, vooral zweet. Kangoeroes zweten niet door hun huid heen, maar alleen onder hun staart en op hun tong. Het huidoppervlak is daarom ononderbroken, wat ook de vezelstructuur beïnvloedt. Terwijl de vezelstructuur van koeienhuid iets losser wordt bij intensief gebruik, blijft deze bij kangoeroeleer stevig. Bovendien is de vezelstructuur van kangoeroe leder intensiever verweven dan die van koeienhuid.
Er zijn ongeveer 48 soorten kangoeroes bekend, waarvan sommige beschermd zijn. De kangoeroe “macropus giganteus,” een reuzenkangoeroe, is echter een echte plaag geworden door zijn ongecontroleerde voortplanting. Daarom mag er op hem worden gejaagd met een jachtvergunning van de Australische overheid en mag hij worden geëxporteerd onder de voorwaarden van de Conventie van Washington over de internationale handel in bedreigde diersoorten. Dankzij een speciaal verfproces is ons kangoeroe leer volledig kleurvast en een speciaal looiproces maakt het extreem bestand tegen vocht en zweet.
Nudud
Nudud is de nieuwe touchscreen-technologie van de gelijknamige Zweedse fabrikant. Een standaard smartphonescherm werkt met een constant elektrisch veld. Een aanraking van de vinger geleidt de stroom en de invoer wordt door het scherm herkend. Normaal gesproken geleiden handschoenen echter geen elektriciteit. Dit betekent dat het elektrische veld niet wordt veranderd en een aanraking dus niet wordt herkend. Nudud gebruikt microchips die in het leer zijn verwerkt en zorgen voor een optimale geleiding.
Dit maakt het mogelijk om absoluut precieze inputs te doen op touchscreens, zelfs als je handschoenen draagt, waardoor het niet meer nodig is om handschoenen uit te doen en weer aan te trekken bij koud, regenachtig weer.
SuperFabric® merkmateriaal
SuperFarbic® is samengesteld uit 32% polyester en 68% epoxyhars. Deze materiaalmix biedt maximaal comfort dankzij de volledige flexibiliteit en combineert de positieve eigenschappen van leer, zoals snijweerstand en extreem hoge schuur- en slijtagewaarden. SuperFarbic® merkmateriaal wordt met name gebruikt op plaatsen waar het risico op stoten bestaat, zoals de handpalmen/knokkels, enz.
HELD Armaprotec
HELD Armaprotec is een technisch gebreide stof op basis van Armalith® technologie. Het wordt gebruikt als voeringmateriaal in beschermende motorkleding als vervanging voor aramidevoering. Held Armaprotec overtreft de eigenschappen van aramide breisels op het gebied van schuur- en scheurweerstand, ademend vermogen, comfort, gewicht, wasbaarheid, duurzaamheid en UV-bestendigheid.

Kangaroo leather
Normal leather becomes hard, brittle, and shrinks when exposed to moisture, especially sweat. Kangaroos do not sweat through their skin, but only under their tails and on their tongues. The skin surface is therefore continuous, which also affects the fiber structure. While the fiber structure of cowhide loosens slightly under intensive use, it remains firm in kangaroo leather. In addition, the fiber structure of kangaroo leather is more intensively interlocked than that of cowhide.
There are approximately 48 known species of kangaroos, some of which are protected. However, the kangaroo “macropus giganteus,” a giant kangaroo, has become a real pest due to its uncontrolled reproduction. It may therefore be hunted under a shooting license issued by the Australian government and exported under the terms of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. Thanks to a special dyeing process, our kangaroo leather is completely colorfast, and a special tanning process makes it extremely resistant to moisture and sweat.
Nudud
Nudud is the new touchscreen technology from the Swedish manufacturer of the same name. A standard smartphone display works with a constant electric field. A touch of the finger conducts the current and the input is recognized by the screen. Normally, however, gloves do not conduct electricity. This means that the electric field is not changed and a touch is therefore not recognized. Nudud uses microchips that are incorporated into the leather and ensure optimum conductivity.
This makes it possible to make absolutely precise inputs on touchscreens even when wearing gloves, eliminating the need to take gloves off and put them back on again in cold, rainy weather.
SuperFabric® brand material
SuperFarbic® is composed of 32% polyester and 68% epoxy resin. This material mix offers maximum comfort thanks to its full flexibility and combines the positive features of leather, such as cut resistance and extremely high abrasion and wear values. SuperFarbic® brand material is used in particular in areas at risk of impact, such as the palms of the hands/knuckles, etc.
HELD Armaprotec
Held Armaprotec is a technical knitted fabric based on Armalith® technology. It is used as a lining material in motorcycle protective clothing as a replacement for aramid lining. Held Armaprotec surpasses the features of aramid knits in terms of abrasion and tear resistance, breathability, comfort, weight, washability, sustainability, and UV resistance.

Great gloves in the heat and rain

I took these out for the first time yesterday riding in the Malaysian and Singaporean heat. These gloves breathe perfectly while still providing great grip on the palms. Later it started raining, light, then medium, then an absolute downpour. They never felt wet until the downpour. In the hot weather, they let the air flow freely, which is what I need. I have a pair of Klim induction mesh gloves and these are better in sizing as they come in exact sizes, plus the cuff protects my wrist from the sun without wristbands. (With the excellent but shorter Klim induction gloves, I needed separate sun protection for my wrists. Overall, expensive gloves but well worth it.
